Position: General Labor

Location: Darlington, PA

Shift: Monday Friday 6:00am 3:30pm

Pay: $ 10.50 / hour

Job Requirements:

Required Skills:No special skills required.


1.Lift bundles of veneer onto the table (in sequence).

2.Remove backing boards from load and pile in designated area.

3.Re-align veneer sheets if overlapping on sides or ends of bundles.

4.Ensure that flitch production tickets match and are put in the first bundle of the log.

5.Remove empty pallets and stack in designated area.

6.Keep work area neat and clean.

Physical Actions:

1.Lifting-rolling second half of the log over from far side of crate to near side with the aid of partner.

2. Pushing/Pulling-pushing crate from holding rollers onto the lift table rollers.

(Approximate distance = 4 feet).

Regular Job Actions:

1.Lifting bundles of veneer (in sequence) onto the table with the aid of a partner.

2.Blocking each bundle at the ends ensuring that there are no overlapping sheets.

3.Place each log s production flitch tickets in the first bundle of the log ensure that the flitch numbers match (i.e. S 34567-1 and S 34567-2)

4.If the veneer sheets in the bundle are overlapping on the sides realign with aid of partner.

5.Roll (with aid of partner) the second flitch of the log over while still on the crate so that the bottom bundle of the flitch will be put up first.Flip each bundle over as it is put up on the table.

6.Push (with aid of partner) the next pallet load of veneer off holding line rollers onto the lift table rollers.

7.Once exposed remove backing boards off the pallet load and stack in designated area.

Occasional Job Actions:

1.When all others tasks are complete clean and sweep work area and help out fellow workers where required.

2.Assist in any task assigned by supervisor with appropriate training.

Health and Safety Precautions:

1.Ensure all personal protective equipment (PPE) is being used and worn.

2.When rolling the second part of the log if it is too large for 2 people ask for assistance.

3.Watch for forklifts.

4.Refer to supervisor for further details on any policy or procedure.

5.Every worker must work in compliance with the provisions of OSHA regulations.
